◈ protagonist & antagonist：主角與其敵人
◈ laissez faire [͵lɛse ˋfɛr]：自由放任政策（英語音近less fair，法語音近"哩洗匪"）
◈ filibuster：阻礙議事（費力把事拖、拉布）
◈ champagne socialist：喝香檳度日的社會主義者（諷刺語）
◈ pejorative [ˋpidʒə͵retɪv] / derogatory [dɪˋrɑgə͵torɪ]：貶抑的
◈ rim, brim, brink, verge：邊緣
◈ higher ground：品格更崇高的心境或立場
