◈ make a fuss:小題大作
◈ hipster:美式文藝青年
◈ laid-back:悠閒、隨和
◈ savor the moment:盡享此刻
◈ RSVP:請回覆(於邀請函,來自法文Répondez s'il vous plaît)
◈ so to speak / as it were:可稱為
◈ be that as it may / having said that / that being said:儘管如此
◈ albeit [ɔlˋbiɪt]  (conj.):儘管(= although)
◈ buzzkill:掃興
◈ consider it done:包在我身上
◈ listicle:清單體文章
◈ vibe:氛圍、氣場
◈ cut someone some slack:為某人留點餘裕
◈ slacktivism:懶人行動主義
◈ jinx:不祥的物或人、使倒楣

◈ If you say so:你說了算(針對對方的判斷或提議,口語上也可能省略if)
◈ with regard to的regard是單數,但這詞又老套又囉唆,可改用regarding或about
◈ 與過去事實相反的條件句要用「過去完成式」:eg. If you hadn't been that good, I wouldn't have married you.
◈ whatsoever = at all
◈ in terms of:用…的說法(≒ according to)
◈ protagonist & antagonist:主角與其敵人
◈ laissez faire [͵lɛse ˋfɛr]:自由放任政策(英語音近less fair,法語音近"哩洗匪")
◈ filibuster:阻礙議事(費力把事拖、拉布)
◈ champagne socialist:喝香檳度日的社會主義者(諷刺語)
◈ pejorative [ˋpidʒə͵retɪv] / derogatory [dɪˋrɑgə͵torɪ]:貶抑的
◈ rim, brim, brink, verge:邊緣
◈ higher ground:品格更崇高的心境或立場
